A full-sized boar is a large, powerful animal, often having sharp tusks which it uses to defend itself. Boar hunting has often been a test of bravery.
With beaters and small dogs the boar will be driven through the line whilst you are on a high seat or tower around 1 meter off the ground.
With this method of hunting, you should see plenty of boar. Bags are often bags between 8 and 40 boar for 8-10 guns. A boar running at full speed presents a challenging target. Boar hunting in France can be thrilling and fast paced.

Boar hunting with foxhounds is a traditional activity involving the tracking, chase, and sometimes killing of a boar by trained foxhounds or other scent hounds, and a group of unarmed followers led by a master of foxhounds, who follow the hounds on foot.
You will be posted in a line and when the boar breaks through the line it can be shot. The distinctive howling “music” of the hounds announces whether they are on scent of a boar. As the hounds only chase one boar at the time, the bags will be smaller than with driven boar.
